During the performance I play electric guitar within and without the flamenco style, playing Peteneras and an improvised solo. Playing electric is very different from playing the flamenco guitar. There's a lot of potential for this interesting divergence from the traditional flamenco guitar performance.
It was a proper delight to play in this festival and to visit Israel, it is a culturally pluristic place, after our performance a Berlin chamber orchestra performed pieces by Weinberg, Piazolla, Pablo de Sarasate and Shostakovich, I stayed to listen to them, it was fantastic, the conductor mentioned there were 14 different nationalities in the orchestra, he also made a point to say that politics and war should remain outside the concert hall, that it was a place for peace.
The place we were, Eilat, was right at the tip of one of the fingers of the Red Sea, from there you could see Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, really quite special. I hope one day the people in general, in that region, can know some kind of peaceful coexistence. Israel appeared to me to be a very pluralistic and tolerant country. I was once again treated exeptionally well there as a person and travelling musician.
